How are we preparing for the EU exit?

Our approach includes having an overview over our procurement relationships with suppliers and contractors, medical equipment and supplies, medicines, our workforce, our data, research trials and our business continuity plans. We are working in liaison with our local health and social care system and regional EU exit leads. We currently have no specific concerns for LPT staff and patients but we will continue to monitor the situation and respond as appropriate. We will be providing regular updates to staff in the lead-up to the leave date. If you have any concerns please speak to your manager in the first instance or contact our EU Exit Lead Sharon Murphy, deputy director of finance.

There is a specific website that has been set up by NHS England to answer frequently asked questions and concerns raised by the public. Please refer to this for public advice: https://www.england.nhs.uk/eu-exit/

The government is working closely with the NHS and suppliers to help to ensure medicines and medical products continue to be available for patients if there is a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.
