Nominations for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s (LPT) annual Celebrating Excellence Awards are now open for patients, service-users, carers, and staff to recognise extraordinary individuals and exceptional teams working and volunteering across the Trust.
Angela Hillery, chief executive of LPT, said: “We are very proud of our staff and volunteers. These awards are an opportunity to recognise and thank our them for the outstanding commitment and compassionate care they demonstrate to the people who use our services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
“If you have been cared for by any of our community health, mental health or learning disabilities services across children and families’ services, adult or older people’s services, please do take the time to nominate them.”
Judges will be particularly interested in nominations that reflect LPT’s values of compassion, respect, integrity and trust.
The following four categories are open to nominations from the public:
- Delivering Exceptional Care Award
- Volunteer of the Year Award
- Unsung Hero of the Year (a special award presented by LPT’s CEO/chair)
- Excellence in Patient or Service User Involvement Award
At last year’s Celebrating Excellence Awards two members of staff were presented with the Delivering Exceptional Care Award after being nominated by a member of the public who witnessed their exceptional dedication to support a mental health patient to attend a family funeral.
Other winners of previous Celebrating Excellence Awards include:
- Unscheduled care coordination hub, a partnership between multiple NHS and social care organisations to support patients and provide alternative pathways to hospital admission, through advice, support and care in the community.
- Mental health crisis team, who delivered 24/7 care during the pandemic by creating a successful central access point and an acute care liaison hub within the Leicester Hospital’s Emergency Department.
- Specialist autism team, who developed a shared vision to ensure the service reflects the needs of autistic people and introduced a new text messaging service called ChatAutism, and developed an online area called Autism Space to support autistic young people and adults across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Nominations are open until 5pm on Monday 13 May 2024, with the winners being announced at a special fully sponsored ceremony taking place on the evening of Friday 11 October.
Nominators of the three finalists in each category will be invited to attend the event and join in this celebration of remarkable teams and individuals.
