Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV) Service provides early on-scene response to individuals aged 18 years and older and explores alternative safe and dignified care and intervention options for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the community.

Referral criteria

Individuals can be referred to the Mental Health Response Vehicle Service by emergency services, local authorities, adult social care, and internal LPT Urgent Care Pathway services.

Individuals, family members and/or carers seeking urgent advice and support for their loved ones who are experiencing a mental health crisis are encouraged to contact the Mental Health Central Access Point on 0808 800 3302 or through NHS 111 (Option 2 – mental health telephone service) who will provide signposting advice to the most appropriate service in the first instance.

Please call 999 if there is an immediate threat to life.

NHS 111, EMAS, Police, Adult Social Care (AMHP)

Who to contact if you need an interpreter or information about disabled access

Individuals, carers or families should inform the referring organisation of their interpretation requirements at the point of referral.
