Representatives from a range of private and public sector employers from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland will be part of the launch of Mind-Fit Workforce – an innovative business networking session with a focus on mental wellness and fostering healthier workplaces. The event, which is part of Leicester Business Festival, has been organised by Raising Health, the registered charity for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

Taking place on Friday, 15 November, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, the launch of Mind-Fit Workforce will offer business leaders, wellbeing champions, and professionals who are passionate about mental health, a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and rejuvenate.

Mind-Fit Workforce will bring together professionals from retail, construction, hospitality, the legal profession, the car industry and the public sector to engage in an open dialogue around mental wellness, organisational wellbeing, and strategies to support a healthier, more resilient workforce. The event is perfect for those looking to share best practices, explore challenges, and discover actionable solutions to create ‘mind-fit’ workplaces.

Attendees will also be able to take part in a mindfulness session, designed to foster personal wellbeing and learn more about LPT’s five steps to mental wellbeing.

According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development:

  • 18 million work days are lost each year due to poor mental health.
  • More than one-in-eight (12 per cent) of working days lost were due to mental health conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety.
  • Minor illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries and mental ill health are the leading causes of short-term absence.

Magda Korytkowska, fundraising manager for Raising Health, said: “Mind-Fit Workforce will serve as the first in a series of regular sessions aimed at offering businesses a fresh approach to collaborating with Raising Health. By working together and learning from each other, we can enhance the mental wellness of our employees, helping organisations prioritise their most valuable asset—a healthy, mind-fit workforce.

“This event will provide a relaxed atmosphere for exchanging ideas, sharing concerns, and finding new ways to prioritise mental health in the workplace. Whether you’re a business leader, HR professional, or simply passionate about fostering a healthy work environment, Mind-Fit Workforce is a valuable opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and organisations.”
