A spokesperson for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust said: “It is with sadness that we confirm the death of an inpatient who was receiving care at Loughborough Hospital and had tested positive for Covid-19.

“The female, who was in her eighties and had underlying health conditions, died on Saturday 30 May.

“Her family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
